Supporting Drivers Across the Region
Roadside jobs across the Northern Rivers require planning, the right gear and an understanding of local geography. Our vehicles are equipped with jump starters, lockout kits, wheel tools and lights to manage roadside jobs day or night. We follow clear procedures to assess the scene, communicate with the customer and take appropriate action—whether that means a quick fix or a full tow.
We’re used to navigating winding hinterland roads, coastal suburbs and off-grid locations, and we take extra care to ensure we arrive safely and prepared. If you’re not at the vehicle when we arrive, we’ll follow the instructions you’ve provided to get the job done. Every service is logged and handled in line with towing and roadside regulations.
If your vehicle can’t be restarted, we’ll arrange secure transport to your preferred workshop or property. Our goal in the Northern Rivers is to support local drivers with a straightforward, no-fuss approach to 24hr roadside assistance.
Will roadside assistance still come if I’m not a member of a provider?
Yes, many roadside assistance companies offer pay-as-you-go services for non-members, though response times and costs may vary. Non-members typically pay a call-out fee and any service charges upfront, which can be higher than member rates. Availability depends on the provider’s current workload and geographic coverage. If you’re not part of a roadside program, it’s helpful to have clear information ready, such as your vehicle type, issue and exact location. Some providers may also require ID or proof of ownership before proceeding.
What should I do while waiting for roadside help in an unsafe location?
If you’re waiting for help in a risky area—like a highway shoulder or dimly lit road—your top priority is staying safe. Keep your hazard lights on and remain inside your vehicle with your seatbelt fastened, especially in high-traffic areas. If it’s unsafe to stay in the car, move to a nearby secure location like a footpath, embankment or roadside barrier. Make yourself visible with reflective gear, lights or a mobile phone torch if it’s dark. Avoid standing too close to the road, and keep your phone charged to stay in contact with the assistance provider.
How far will my car be towed if roadside repair isn’t possible?
The distance your car can be towed depends on the provider’s policy and the type of roadside assistance you’ve requested. Many providers include a base towing range—such as 10, 20 or 50 kilometres—with extra distance billed per kilometre beyond that. Some towing jobs are directed to the nearest repair facility or a location of your choice, depending on the terms of service. In regional or remote areas, available drop-off points may be limited. It’s best to confirm the included towing distance and any extra charges before the vehicle is moved.
